About Appetite Suppressants

Appetite suppressants affect the appetite- regulating region of the brain called the hypothalamus. They work by blocking the reuptake of the chemical’s serotonin and norepinephrine, which create that feeling of satiety received after eating a big meal. Withmore of these chemicals circulating in the brain, a feeling of fullness can occur. Appetite suppressants are the cornerstone of the pharmacological approach to treating obesity and is strictly recommended to administered under a Physician supervised treatment plan.

Treatment Options with Apotheca Integrative Pharmacy
Phentermine

Is similar to amphetamine. It stimulates the Central Nervous System (nerve and brain) which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite. Phentermine is indicated in the management of exogenous obesity as a short term (several weeks) adjunct in a regimen of weight reduction based on caloric restriction.

Phentermine Hydrochloride + Topiramate

Phentermine and Topiramate is a combination medicine used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity. This medicine is sometimes used to treat obesity that may be related to diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure.

According to a study published in 2012 by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, in an 866 eligible subject study, it was found that at weeks 52 and 108, phentermine/topiramate (PHEN/TPM CR) was associated with significant, sustained weight loss along with improved cardiovascular and metabolic variables, and decreased rates of incident diabetes in comparison with placebo. PHEN/TPM CR was well tolerated over 108 weeks, with reduced rates of adverse events occurring between weeks 56 and 108, compared with rates between weeks 0 and 562.

HCG - Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

Is a hormone present in both men and women. HCG is a natural hormone produced in large quantities during a woman’s pregnancy to ensure proper nutrients for the growth of the baby. It has been found to be produced in great amounts in the placenta of pregnant females to aid in the control of vital metabolic functions. In non-pregnant women and men, on-going research is suggesting that HCG similarly increases metabolism similar to a pregnant female by helping the body release calories stored in fat.

HCG helps to mobilize stored fat when nutrition is suboptimal or caloric intake is low. HCG helps protects beneficial lean muscle mass while burning undesirable abnormal excessive fat.

MIC - Methionine Inositol Choline

Also known as lipotropic injections. MIC injections are shots specifically designed to help speed up the metabolism. Lipotropics are fat burning amino acids, substances that are naturally produced by the body. These chemicals help to remove toxins and waste from the liver, prevent cholesterol build up and metabolize fats.

Methionine

A protein-based amino acid that is essential for muscle growth and energy. It also helps preserve artery function, maintain healthy nails, hair, and skin, break down fat, and remove heavy metals from the body.

Inositol

Used medicinally to help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the body. Inositol may also be used to improve circulation, prevent hair loss, nourish the brain, and facilitate the conversion of nutrients to energy.

Choline

Important for liver function, along with helping to remove toxins, and prevent fat from accumulating in the liver. With proper amounts of this nutrient in the diet each day, the chances of developing problems with the liver are reduced.
